Aushak – Afghan Dumplings Workshops by Shayma Saadat at The Depanneur, May 6.  6:30pm.  1033 College Street.  $40+HST/person.  If you LOVE dumplings, this workshop is the perfect fit!  Join famed Pakastani-Afghan food writer and photographer, Shayma Saadat, for a workshop devoted to the dumpling, Afghan-style!  Aushak are leek paste-based dumplings served with thick, garlicky yoghurt and spiced tomato meat sauce (not to fret vegetarians; there will be veg versions at this class too!) and at this class you’ll learn about its place in Afghan kitchens and cuisine, how to create fillings and toppings, how to stuff, fold, and steam, and to assemble the delicious dish.  http://thedepanneur.ca/event/workshop-aushak-afghan-dumplings-workshop-by-shayma-saadat/
