Sinking Your Teeth Into Luscious Vegan and Gluten-Free Desserts! Veggielicious at Bunner’s Bake Shop – Part I

I am SO giddy and excited to share these photos with you guys!  It was such a beautiful day today.  A bit chilly in the morning, but sunkissed and glorious by the afternoon.  Veggielicious is up and running in and around the city and today I ate through the first one on my list: Bunner’s Bake Shop on Dundas St. West!  When I went over my foodie options for Veggielicious, I knew I wanted to balance out my savoury with some sweet, and sweet I got!  Bunner’s Bake Shop, located in the heart of The Junction neighbourhood in Toronto, is a vegan and gluten-free bakery that churns out delicious desserts and pastries that are egg-free, wheat-free, dairy-free, and cruelty-free.  Their Veggielicious special for the 2 weeks is comprised of a gypsy cookie, a creamie cookie sandwich, and a cupcake for $7.50.  This is my teaser picture post for you all today, so enjoy and drool while I work on my thorough Bunner’s Bake Shop post tomorrow! 😀  A BIG thank you to Ashley and Kevin who run Bunner’s for allowing me to go snap happy with my camera so I could share this experience with you guys, I really appreciate it.

Bunner’s is located in The Junction at 3054 Dundas Street West, 3 blocks from the intersection of Keele and Dundas West.  Bunner’s is just west of High Park Ave.  They are open from Monday to Saturday from 10am-7pm, and 12pm-5pm on Sundays.

  1. I would be in heaven! I never see dairy-free sweets (so I indulge even though I shouldn’t…. oops.) Those desserts look DELICIOUS.

and the new top-banner isn’t too bad to look at, either 😉

    • I know for a fact that you would be absolutely IN LOVE with the creamies (cookie sandwiches) and most likely the donuts too! I must try a donut sometime…and basically everything else! I’m compiling a list of places that serve gluten-free for a friend, I’ll definitely keep a list of dairy-free too. Even if you can eat at all these TO places, it can give you inspiration 🙂

And aww, thanks! The cupcakes are from Short & Sweet Cupcakes. Took the photo in their storefront window ❤

  2. Thanks again for the company and the surprise! I kept thinking to myself that I could eat a whole tub of that lemon frosting.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the cookie, though. I shared half with my vegetarian co-worker (who liked it a lot) since our caf doesn’t offer a whole lot of veggie options and I thought she’d enjoy a treat. I thought I tasted something like espresso powder, but I could have been wrong. Something was just off for me.

    Those donuts looks awesome!
And totes agree with ‘Manda; the new banner is amazing 😀

    • Hahaha about the frosting! 😀 I’m so glad you liked it! And no worries about the cookie, I’m glad your vegetarian friend liked it! I knew from the start that it would be a hit or miss thing with everyone based on what it has in it. I love raisins in my cookie, for example, but I know plenty of people who wouldn’t go near the stuff. We will happily get you some non-cookie items when we go. And yes, we will go together sometime! =)

    • In all seriousness, if there was a fab job lined up for you here…I think the decision would be half way there 😉 I wish there was a way to send stuff like this in the mail without spoiling and smushage, haha.

    • It makes me happy knowing I’m able to persuade 😀 It would be amazing if all of us got together as a group one day, the meet up of a lifetime!
